Senior Consultant Founder of Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum, which is one of the largest Cancer centre in the country. Advisor to director General, Word Health Organization, Geneva, team member and participated in the International meeting held by WHO to prepare the managerial guidelines for Cancer Control. Chairman of Cancer Control Plan Committee for the 11th plan of Government of India Innovator of Cancer Care for Life Scheme in RCC Trivandrum- a cheap DRG for cancer First introduced Pediatric Oncology in India Introduced for the first time in India, a Community Oncology programme in the Regional Cancer Centre which consisted of public awareness, cancer detection camps for early cancer detection and proper navigation of patients for laboratory diagnosis and treatment. The only member from India on the Advisory Committee of the Director General, WHO and Cancer Technical Group (CTG) of WHO Short-term Consultant in IARC and was a visiting scholar in Allegheny General Hospital, Stanford University, and University of Southern California. Held the post of President, Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Indian Council of Medical Research, and Member of the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology of the Department of Atomic Energy of India Introduced Pain & palliative Care Programme for the first time in India Implemented a 10-Year Action Plan in Kerala which reduced tobacco consumption, improved early detection, enhanced therapy facilities, and provided palliative care and pain relief to substantial sections of dying cancer patients. This programme finds mention in IARC (Managerial Guidelines for NCCP (2002), World Cancer Report (2003)), and WHO documents.
